The B&E Department Welcomes New Graduate Assistants, Christina and Olivia!

The Business and Entrepreneurship Department is excited to introduce its new Graduate Assistants, Olivia Breen and Christina Solazzo! Our new GA’s will be with us for the Spring 2019 semester and we encourage you to stop by and say “hello”!

Olivia Breen

Olivia Breen is a first-year MBA student with a concentration in Entrepreneurship; she graduated from Johnson and Wales University with a bachelor’s degree in events management. Olivia’s background is in event and hospitality management, with much of her experience in the coordination of weddings and private parties. She has a passion for creative design and special events planning, but realized it was not a sustainable, long-term career.

She decided to go back to school to earn a Master’s in Business Administration. Olivia was drawn to Chatham University because of its strong representation of women’s entrepreneurship and its practical application of business courses. She also appreciates Chatham’s experienced faculty, small community vibe and close-knit classroom environment. Upon graduation in 2020, Olivia plans to create her own brand and business in the gift/retail industry. She will use the skills and knowledge she has received from Chatham’s Business and Entrepreneurship department to develop a business by designing custom-made gift baskets for special occasions like corporate events, parties and holidays. 

When Olivia is not studying, she enjoys cooking, baking, exploring the city, and trying new restaurants. She is very active and enjoys yoga, fitness classes and running outside, as well as networking and socializing with new people. She hopes to bring more networking events to Chatham!

 Christina Solazzo

The Business and Entrepreneurship Department is excited to welcome its new Promotions and Social Media Associate, Christina Solazzo! Originally from Clearwater, Florida, Christina is completing her final semester of classes in the MBA/MA in Food Studies dual degree program where she is pursuing her love of all things wine.  

Prior to attending Chatham University, Christina studied sociology and political science at the College of Wooster in Ohio where she received her BA.  She had the incredible opportunity to intern at Tabarrini, an Italian winery in the region of Umbria, as a first-year and has continued to work for them ever since as a Marketing Representative. She also worked for three years in Wooster’s Off-Campus Studies Office as a Global Envoy where she mentored students through their study abroad experiences. This evolved into her own study abroad experience at the Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy. Christina returned to Wooster for only a few months before racing back to Umbra to work as their intern and then to Washington D.C. to work as the Wine Program Intern at Via Umbria, an Italian specialty store. You might be sensing a theme here…

Christina is ecstatic to continue developing her interest in marketing in the business department. If you run into Christina outside of the office, feel free to say “hi!” Chances are she’ll be hiding out at a coffee shop.
