About the Club

The Chatham University Creative Writing Club is for anyone who loves to write. We welcome writers of every genre, every interest, and of every level of expertise. The club is entirely run by an undergraduate community of writers who aim to highlight student’s work and connect to graduate-level experiences, professional writers, and the greater Pittsburgh writing community. We also connect writers to opportunities for publication and performance.

One of the club’s traditions include the biannual Rea Coffeehouse Reading series, which welcomes writers to submit work for the chance to be one of five featured readers. The night of the reading allows students to share and enjoy their peers’ creative work, try out the open mic, buy a blind date with a book, refreshments, and more.

Whether you’re a writer, a reader, or just a listener, we welcome you and what you have to say. We look forward to exploring the written word with you!
