I’ve been doing research on lead in soil, how to interpret soil tests, and potential methods of removing soil from lead in urban areas where there are lots of people. Studies of phytoremediation (using plants and natural methods to extract lead from soil) are fairly recent and there is no definitive answer on what the “right” way to use it is, so many decisions have to be made by weighing pros and cons of different methods. It will be interesting to see how the study of phytoremediation progresses. I’ve also helped OBB with their property survey, gathering and entering data about plots of land in Homewood, and have assisted with mailing out invitations to an OBB community event for Clusters 8&9.
