All of our documentation can be found on myChatham – https://my.chatham.edu/documents/getdeptdocs.cfm?DeptID=17&DisplayName=Instructional%20Technology
Except Moodle specific documentation is housed in Moodle.
It’s our learning management system (lms). It contains all courses. It is where both teachers and students go to turn in assignments, participate in forums and online chats. It also allows faculty and students to easily email each other with the quick mail block (https://moodle.chatham.edu/mod/page/view.php?id=469568#Q7) and to post and view unofficial grades.
All Moodle Documentation can be found here:
Moodle for Faculty – https://moodle.chatham.edu/course/view.php?id=14062
Moodle for Students – https://moodle.chatham.edu/course/view.php?id=26
It’s our video creation and repository. It is both integrated with Moodle and a standalone tool. Everyone at Chatham is permitted to have an account, but they must be created by firstname.lastname@example.org.
VoiceThread is fully integrated with Moodle, although some faculty do use it outside of the Moodle environment. VoiceThread allows users to have a dynamic conversation around a piece of media. Students and Faculty can leave either typed, audio or video comments. Faculty and students do not need to create accounts – they are automatically created when the tool is used in Moodle.
Turnitin is fully integrated in Moodle and is our plagiarism prevention tool. Students can also use the tool for self-editing and checking here – https://moodle.chatham.edu/course/view.php?id=26§ion=2
Hoonuit (transitioning from Atomic Learning)
This system is both integrated with Moodle and a standalone tool. It is a repository of video tutorials about different technologies and more. It is a robust resource. Everyone at Chatham is permitted to use Hoonuit. It is connected to AD – they just have to login with their Chatham email and password.
Zoom is our online meeting tool. It is both integrated with Moodle and a standalone tool. It is integrated with Outlook, too. It allows users to connect and video chart, share screens and more. Everyone at Chatham is permitted to use Zoom. It is connected to AD – they just have to login with their Chatham email and password.
If anyone needs to use this tool to do a webinar they have to email email@example.com because we have a very limited license for this feature that will have to be turned on.
PB Works is a wiki that is mainly used by the Nursing Department for online portfolio creation. We have a campus workspace that students will have to request access to in order to gain various features.
PollEv is a polling system that allows faculty to get real time feedback from students. We have a campus license. This tool also integrates with PowerPoint and can be embedded in Moodle – but is not fully integrated with Moodle.
Chatham’s WordPress blogs are hosted with CampusPress. Anyone at Chatham can request/create a blog by going to the website. They simply need to login with their Chatham username and password – it is connected to AD. Since WordPress is so robust we often guide users with complicated questions to Hoonuit.
We are administrators in Qualtrics, but Alberta Certo is the lead administrator. Qualtrics is a survey creation tool. If a user needs an account they must request one here – https://my.chatham.edu/tools/qualtrics.cfm
