Walter Morales: Beethoven Piano Sonatas
Beginning this academic year, 2014-2015, faculty member Walter Morales started a project to perform Beethoven’s piano sonatas as part of our Friday Afternoon Musicale series. Walter is part of the faculty here at Chatham and does a wonderful job teaching and assisting students with accompaniment (a later post will feature more about Walter).
The most recent Beethoven Piano Sonata performance included:
- Piano Sonata No. 7 in D major, Op. 10 No. 3 (1797-1798)
- Piano Sonata No. 27 in E minor, Op. 90 (1814)
- Piano Sonata No. 14 in C sharp minor, Op. 27 No. 2 “Moonlight” (1801)
Walter will perform the third installment of his Beethoven piano sonatas project at Chatham on March 20, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the founders room of James Laughlin Music Hall
