Below is an alphabetical list of licensed campus technologies for faculty. If you have a request, please email complete a Helpdesk ticket at services.chatham.edu or email support@chatham.edu.

Additional Brightspace Resources

  • Brightspace for Instructors Course – Customized for and open to all Chatham faculty. Covers getting started, course setup basics, adding content, assignments, discussion forums, rubrics, grades, class progress, and more.
  • Brightspace Focused Chatham Workshop Recordings – Chatham offered workshops on Brightspace specific tools during summer 2020. All workshop recordings are available on Panopto.
  • Brightspace YouTube Tutorials – This is easily accessed from the web. Videos are organized by playlists. Videos are short and cover specific topics.
  • Brightspace Instructor Documentation – This course covers all of the basics. Links to documentation and YouTube videos.
  • Brightspace Subscription Training – This gives faculty access to on-demand video training. Faculty need to sign-up for an account using a Chatham email address. This account is not connected to a Chatham account, so a separate password is needed.
  • Brightspace Community – A place to connect with other Brightspace users. This space offers community discussion forums, FAQs, links to YouTube videos, and documentation.

Chatham University allows you to login to Calendly to create an account with your Chatham email address and password.  When logging in be sure to select the Microsoft option. This will allow your Chatham calendar to integrate with the free basic Calendly program features.


CampusNexus

The Chatham University student information system is CampusNexus, formerly known as CampusVue. This document will show you how to log in to both the server and system, navigate through the system, and perform common tasks such as updating your password, searching for a student record, descriptions of the panes and the available menu icons.

Edpuzzle is an easy-to-use platform where you can make any video your lesson. With just one click, you can find video lessons created by other teachers, including formative assessment! Another click and you can adapt that video by embedding your own questions or audio. With the final click, assign it to your students and get beautiful hassle-free analytics: see who watched the video, who didn’t understand the lesson and who did a good job. Students can re-watch the video as many times as they need at their own pace, while you can easily check their progress from your account.


Flipgrid

Flipgrid is a free video discussion platform from Microsoft that helps educators see and hear from every student in class and foster fun and supportive social learning. In Flipgrid, educators post discussion prompts and students respond with short videos, whether they are learning in class or at home.

Hoonuit (formerly Atomic Learning)

This system is both integrated with Brightspace and a standalone tool. It is a repository of video tutorials about different technologies and more. It is a robust resource. Everyone at Chatham is permitted to use Hoonuit. Users just have to log in with their Chatham email and password.

Brightspace – Learning Management System

Brightpsace by D2L is Chatham’s new learning management system (LMS). It contains all courses. It is where both teachers and students go to turn in assignments, participate in forums, and online chats. It also allows faculty and students to easily communicate and to post and view unofficial grades.

Panopto – Lecture Capture

Panopto provides integrated video recording, live streaming, video management, and inside-video search. Panopto can be added to any Brightspace course. Users can access using Chatham accounts.


Poll Everywhere – Classroom Response System

PollEv is a polling system that allows faculty to get real-time feedback from students. We have a campus license. This tool also integrates with PowerPoint and can be embedded in Brightspace – but is not fully integrated.

Proctorio – Secure Testing

SensusAccess

SensusAccess is a self-service, alternate media solution for educational institutions. SensusAccess allows students, faculty, staff and alumni to automatically convert documents into a range of alternate media including audio books (MP3 and DAISY), e-books (EPUB, EPUB3 and Mobi) and digital Braille. The service can also be used to convert inaccessible documents such as image-only PDF files, JPG pictures and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations into more accessible and less tricky formats. We call that Inclusion Technology

VoiceThread – Audio and Video Discussion

VoiceThread is fully integrated with Brightspace, although some faculty do use it outside of the Brightspace environment. VoiceThread allows users to have a dynamic conversation around a piece of media. Students and Faculty can leave either typed, audio, or video comments. Faculty and students do not need to create accounts – they are automatically created when the tool is used in Brightspace.


VPN – Offline Connection to Campus Servers

Sophos VPN clients provide easy-to-use and transparent remote access to all company applications. This is provided through secure SSL or IPsec VPNs from Windows, Linux, Mac OS and UNIX-based systems.

Chatham’s WordPress blogs are hosted with CampusPress. Anyone at Chatham can request/create a blog by going to the website. They simply need to log in with their Chatham username and password.


Zoom

Zoom is our online meeting tool. It is both integrated with Brightspace and a standalone tool. It is integrated with Outlook, too. It allows users to connect and video chat, share screens, and more. Everyone at Chatham is permitted to use Zoom. It is connected to AD – they just have to log in with their Chatham email and password.
