Ice Cream

Sonja has a thorough background in cooking. She taught Home economics for years. She enjoys eating veggies and is very big on nutrition and health. She was kind enough to share two of her favorite recipes with us. You can see her other recipe here.

1 quart of half and half

1 quart of whipping cream

Sugar (to taste)

Combine all ingredients together and stir slowly in a sauce pan. Don’t bring to a boil, but when you see steam coming off of the pan. Add a few tablespoons of vanilla. Pour into a bowl and let chill until it starts to break and then beat it with a hand mixer. Do this 3 or 4 times every 2 hours until it starts to solidify and then let it freeze. You can add fruit, chocolate, or whatever else you’d like.
