Throughout the week of April 3, producer, journalist, Oscar-nominee, and emmy winner Callie Crossley could be seen on Chatham’s campus. For three days she circulated through classes, met with student journalists, and mentored Chatham’s Black Student Union in preparation for a discussion panel. Her final act as a guest on campus was to venture to receive an award and help those who filled Eddy Theatre on April 5, make sense of an issue swirling through minds and news cycles: Fake News.

Chatham and PCWP Discuss Trump at Post-Election Panel

Unpredictable. Traumatic. Discriminatory. Unprecedented. Those are the words alumnae, students, and faculty have used to describe the impending Trump Administration. In the days that followed the news of who the country’s next president would be, waves of shock and disappointment were felt throughout Chatham’s campus. President Finegold sent a campus-wide email of reassurance, some took the day off, the Carriage House’s lounge became a designated safe space; but life goes on.

Fox’s New “Rocky Horror” Can’t Compare to the Original

In the 1970s “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” timewarped it’s way into the hearts of eccentrics and musical enthusiasts all over the world. The wonderfully weird tale of seemingly picture-perfect couple Janet Weiss and Brad Major’s night of misadventure in the Transylvanian inhabited castle would continue to inspire dedication for generations to come. On, Thursday October 20, continuing its tradition of broadcasting musicals, Fox aired “The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again”.

On March 3, nearly a year after President Esther Barazzone announced that she would be stepping down, Chatham students and staff alike gathered in the Chapel to meet her successor. A Harvard alumnus, Rhodes Scholar and holder of a PhD, David Finegold introduced himself as Chatham University’s 19th president. But who is the man behind the credentials and what is his vision for Chatham?

When David Finegold was an undergraduate, he considered becoming a journalist or judge, and never imagined becoming a university president. However, while working on his dissertation, learning about education policy inspired him.  Over the past 30 years, from an assistant professor to a dean, Finegold has served in almost every academic position.

Emotions Tense At “We Are Steubenville” Event In Eddy Theater

On October 6, “Steubenville,” a theatrical performance based on the 2012 rape case, was performed in Eddy Theatre. After opening remarks by Heather Black, Director of Student Affairs and Residence Life, who expressed her desire to create a culture of reporting, the lights dimmed and the audience was taken back in time. The performance started with Alex Spieth, the narrator, telling the audience about her on-stage persona’s younger-self’s desire to experience her first kiss, and then introduced the audience to another young girl.
