Parks are Open for Everyone!

Parks and other green spaces that are put in place by cities are great ways to not only better our environment in an urban setting, but also promote good health for the people who live in that city. Parks provide a sense of community, an open area for all people to come to and enjoy, but they also help our environment as well. With these parks, it can promote the growth and habitation of many other species that coexist with humans on this planet. Parks are also important as they help to improve the quality of the air in polluted cities.

Parks were a concept that started in England in the 1800s, as a way to better the health of the poor people. As a result, parks have sprung up in cities all over the world since then. Unfortunately, parks are not everywhere in the cities, as families who live in low-income neighborhoods do not always have the luxury of these parks. As a result, children growing up in these neighborhoods have a higher chance of asthma as well as obesity in their early developmental stages. In order for the percent of children that have asthma, or that are obese to decrease, cities need to implement more green spaces in their communities. As our environment continues to struggle, additions to our communities like parks can help start the process to bettering our environment.

I always found some parks are great to just clear your head. It doesn’t really matter what you’re doing, it just brings you back to a happier place.
