Food Findings

According to Feeding America, 1 in 8 Americans struggles with hunger. In 2015, 42,238,000 people were food insecure.

Forty-one percent of survey cities reported that the number of requests for emergency food assistance increased over the past year.

 

 

 

 

America has more than enough food to feed everyone. But our abundance is accompanied by tremendous waste.

An estimated 25 – 40 percent of food grown, processed and transported in the U.S will never be consumed.

 

 

 

 

 

The Feeding America nationwide network of food banks secures and distributes 4.3 billion meals each year through food pantries and meal programs throughout the U.S.

It affects every community, including children, women, senior citizens, African Americans, veterans, and more.
