Advertising Competition

What is The Pitch?

The Pitch is a one day competition focused on advertising and its associated disciplines. Students will receive hands-on experience by working at a Pittsburgh advertising agency on a real-world project with a local non-profit organization.

Who should register?

Juniors and seniors studying in the field of advertising and its related disciplines (creative, consumer research, brand strategy, media planning, account management, etc.). The cost is $40 per student and includes lunch and a ticket to the AAF Pittsburgh Holidayapalooza on November 14, 2023.  Chatham will reimburse half the cost ($20) with your receipt.

Registration opens on Monday, September 25th and is first come (and paid), first served.  Students should register themselves on the website (https://www.aafpgh.org/education/the-pitch/) and will be placed into teams by AAF, which are comprised of a mix of schools.  Keep your receipt and submit it to our program Assistant, Jessy Swisher (j.swisher@chatham.edu) for your $20 reimbursement.

How does The Pitch work?

On Friday, November 3, 2023, students will work at one of several local advertising agency led teams to address a real client challenge. About a week before the event each student will be assigned to an agency and given a detailed schedule. The event begins at 9 am and ends by 5:30 pm.

Why should students participate?

The Pitch is intensive, real world, and really cool. Students will gain invaluable insight into the advertising world and its work, while gaining access to a top Pittsburgh agency and its ad professionals. They will build their resumes, professional portfolios, and contacts while doing something that will help them determine if this field is right for them.
