National Essay Competition on the Next System

The Next System Project is pleased to announce our national essay competition on the next system. Judged by a panel (to be announced) of highly respected scholars associated with the project, we will award three $5,000 first prizes for the best original essays by an undergraduate, a graduate, and a non-student. Three runner-up prizes of $500 will also be awarded. We aim to publish a compilation of the best essays submitted.

Design your own next system and contribute to the debate about a better future. Three $5,000  prizes will be awarded for the best original essays by an undergraduate, a graduate, and a non-student. Essays should be between 5,000 and 15,000 words, and should be submitted by December 31, 2016, to essayprize@thenextsystem.org

SCHOLARSHIPS

*NEW* 20 SCHOLARSHIP FOR WOMEN EARNING COMPUTER SCIENCE DEGREES.

It’s widely known that there are far fewer women than men in computer science, but how can we help reverse that trend? ComputerScience.org is part of a new initiative to form the next generation of engineers, developers, and network administrators, and we are striving to get more women involved.

Because college can be so expensive for women pursuing engineering degrees, we’ve collected 20 scholarships available only to women earning computer science degrees. It’s part of a larger resource we’ve created to bring more women into STEM fields.

 

Girl Develop It Scholarship in Web Development

Two $2500 scholarships will be awarded to GDI members each month towards Bloc’s flagship Web Developer Track program! Applications due at the first of every month. Details.

ComputerScience.org was created to help meet the demand for qualified computer scientists in the workforce. They provide an in-depth overview of the field – including education – and serve as an introduction for the next generation of programmers, engineers and developers. Computer Science.org has collected  20 scholarships available only to women earning computer science degrees.
