JaneCameron Williamson

JaneCameron Williamson (goes by JC or JaneCameron but never Jane) is a first year MBA student with a concentration in Sustainability. She graduated from Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina with a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business and a BS in Environment and Sustainability with a concentration in Sustainable Planning and Leadership and still squeezed in time for a Spanish minor. JC was also involved in several extracurriculars, including the American Marketing Association, Eco Club, Delphinian Society, and Phi Beta Lambda Society. During her time in undergrad, she interned at Siemens Energy Inc. in Charlotte, North Carolina as an Environmental Health & Safety/Training intern. JC’s internship and extracurricular activities reflect her passions for sustainability and being involved in the community.

JC chose Chatham University because it strongly aligned with her passions and career path. The MSUS+MBA dual degree allows her to further her knowledge in both business administration and sustainability. One of JC’s role models iChatham alumni Rachel Carson, whpulled her in and reflected the academic excellence of the school. It is JaneCameron’s dream to create and operate a sustainable rental community with unique sustainable homes that utilize the land and features around it for the best ecological and economic results.

Outside of academics, JC likes to spend her time in nature paddle boarding, kayaking, and camping. She also likes to hang out with friends, read, and spend time with her sassy gray bunny. She is new to Pittsburgh and is excited to explore and get to know the area. JC is looking forward to this new journey and is ready to get involved and grow her skill set to make lasting connections with people and companies with similar interests and goals.

Chyna Walker

Chyna Walker is a first year MBA student with a concentration in healthcare management. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Health Information Management. While at Pitt, Chyna was a member of the Black Action SocietyThis organization is dedicated to promoting the political, cultural, educational, and social needs of students, acknowledging the value of diversity and unity among the Black student body. Chyna’s involvement in this society allowed her to meet new people and participate in campus activities. During her time at Pitt, Chyna interned at UPMC in the medical records department, where she learned how medical records are handled and kept private.  She also became a member of the American Health Information Management Association while attending the School of Rehab Science at Pitt.

Chyna said yes to Chatham University because the program combines a good balance between business and healthcare management. With her degree, Chyna hopes to become the CEO of a hospital one day.

In her free time, Chyna likes to read, workout, and go camping. Though she does not have any pets right now, she hopes to one day adopt a mini golden doodle. Chyna is a Pittsburgh native and her favorite spot in the city is the Mount Washington overlook to watch the sunset. Although Chyna knows Pittsburgh well, she has yet to explore Randyland, folk artist Randy Gilson’s landmark building, and would love to go one day. Chyna is excited to start her program to get one step closer to landing her dream job!

Dana Barnes

Dana Barnes is a first year MBA student with a concentration in Sustainability. She graduated from Connecticut College with BAs in Environmental Studies and East Asian Studies. At Connecticut College, Dana worked as a Communications Fellow in the Office of Sustainability where she ran social media and planned events. She also managed The Walk-In Coffee Closets, the entirely student run coffee shops on campus. There she trained employees, created schedules, managed finances, and carried out disciplinary action. Working at The Walk-In cultivated Dana’s passion for being involved with small businesses and sparked a new interest in corporate social responsibility. Dana also interned as a research assistant for Attorney Frank Ralph and collected and analyzed data regarding police brutality in Chicago.

Dana was drawn to Chatham University because of its small class sizes and campus feel, which is like the environment at Connecticut College. Furthermore, Dana was drawn to the MSUS+MBA dual degree because it encompasses her interests in sustainability and business, and it allows her to stay in her hometown of Pittsburgh for a couple more years.

In her free time, Dana enjoys reading, thrifting, trying new restaurants, cooking, and spending time with her friends. She has three kittens, Lucy, Stormi, and Zenon, that keep her on a morning schedule. Dana grew up in Pittsburgh and loves going to the North Shore for concerts, Steelers games, and sports bars. Dana is most excited to learn about sustainable business and hopes to continue to improve her leadership skills and take advantage of opportunities to work within the community.
