Google for Entrepreneurs Week is an annual week celebrating innovators and entrepreneurs around the world. This year, from September 30 – October 4, 2013, Googlers in more than 45 cities around the world, including Pittsburgh, hosted events including community meet ups, mentorship sessions, and product training workshops.

Students and faculty at Chatham attended this global event in Google Pittsburgh’s office at Bakery Square on September 30, 2013. During the presentation, guests learned about Google Applications and their use for entrepreneurs. Demonstrators also presented the AdWords Program, an online advertising tool that helps entrepreneurs reach new customers to grow their businesses. Hongtian Xue, a Chatham MBA student, found the Google Applications and Adwords presentations to be valuable in many ways: “The Google Entrepreneurship workshop was really helpful. I was very impressed by the ability that Google Apps have to combine multiple business functions on a single platform.  From this workshop, I learned very much about the business value of Google Apps and AdWords. I particularly enjoyed learning about these tools inside the Google office!”

Starting Spring 2014, Chatham University’s MBA program will participate in the Google Online Marketing Challenge, which has eng

With a $250 budget provided by Google, students design, implement, and evaluate online advertising campaigns for a business or non-profit organization over a three week period. Working with Dr. Rachel Chung in the BUS 572 Global Marketing course, MBA students will develop cutting-edge skills in online advertising using the Google AdWords platform.
