For a cake, you will turn out of the pan, especially a shaped pan like a Bundt pan, paint the inside surfaces very liberally with a combination of equal parts (1/4 cup suggested) of flour; vegetable oil, and shortening. Beat until smooth with electric mixer.

Let cake cool 10 minutes or so then turn out. Cake should release easily.
